Handmade Valentines

Here at Juiciful Creative Headquarters, we go all out for holidays. For Valentine’s Day, this means a mother-daughter heart painting frenzy. We used a combination of media to create our handmade valentines: sparkly black fabric paint, watercolor, Mr. Sketch markers (which are water-soluble), and calligraphy pens. The fabric paint is thick and puffy; it needs to dry overnight before adding the watercolor, but it’s well worth the wait.

After making all those valentines we were famished and needed a sweet treat. My culinary genius of a daughter made this lovely fruit plate of mango brushed with fresh raspberry sauce. We also made a layered lemon heart-shaped cake. Oh, happy day!
